Girl With Bubbles takes an ordinary image of a young girl blowing bubbles and adds a dash of the eccentric and absurd.
Titled tongue-in-cheek after one of Banksy’s most famous pieces, Girl With Balloon, this piece follows a similar style using a custom detailed stencil with simple black paint. Instead of adding an unexpected element in bright colors like Banksy’s red heart, Girl With Bubbles uses light and motion to stand out.
The addition of motion by a simple rotation of the disco balls makes the reflected light explode around the room from so many individual reflective sources.
All pieces of the artwork, including stencil, drive train and pulleys, mirror ball cloud arrangement, canvas and more, were designed, produced, and installed in-house.
